(Liz Anderson picture)

Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson

Liz is wife to David and a mother of young children. Liz first visited Kenya in 1999 for a 3 month period for her health care elective. Subsequent visits were made annually until 2002. One visit was spent working on her degree dissertation, looking into the cultural practice of female circumcision. Liz is a qualified midwife with experience of working at the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Liz has spent time in many places in Kenya and was struck by the health care needs of the Osani people. She was touched particularly by the plight of the children and the difficulties that mothers faced during their pregnancies, delivery and postnatal period. Along with Les and Ann Beard, Liz helped to develop the vision to provide a health care facility for these people.

Liz liaises with WASOT-UK and OGRA foundation in moving forward the work of the clinic on a practical level. Regular updates are available from her. She also aims to make the project as widely known as possible and raises funds for the ongoing costs of the clinic.

Les and Ann are involved in an advisory capacity along with raising awareness and funds.
